Before a candidate is presented, we review relevant licences, sea service, medical fitness and required safety training. We can assist with short-term cover, planned crew changes, new projects and longer-term requirements.

Crew management

When the crew is mobilised, we continue to follow up the assignment. This includes relief planning, certificate expiry dates, crew-change arrangements and communication between the crew, the vessel and the client.

Payroll and employment setup

Payroll and employment arrangements are assessed for each assignment. The correct setup depends on the employing ORCA entity, the nationality of the personnel and where the work is carried out.

Tax, social security, contract terms and payroll country are reviewed before the assignment starts. Where a setup involves a new client, a change of client or additional risk, the details are checked before invoicing begins.

Project personnel and permanent recruitment

We offer both temporary project support and permanent recruitment.

Temporary personnel can be supplied for campaigns, shipyard periods, transit, shutdowns, hook-up, commissioning and other defined work periods.

Where the client wants to employ the person directly, we can support the recruitment process and permanent placement. The same screening process applies in both cases. The main difference is the employment arrangement.

Travel and mobilisation

We coordinate the practical arrangements connected with mobilisation. This can include visas, flights, accommodation, joining instructions, medical appointments and outstanding certificates.

We also plan demobilisation and crew changes in good time, so that travel arrangements and replacements can be handled properly.

Project and shutdown crews

Some projects require a complete team for a limited period rather than individual crew members.

We can assist with personnel for hook-up, commissioning, inspection, repair, maintenance, class work and shipyard periods.

Depending on the project, this may include marine crew, technical supervisors, riggers, welders, rope-access technicians, HSE personnel, medics and catering personnel.

The required certificates and qualifications are agreed before mobilisation.

The crew is selected according to the safe manning requirements, client matrix and type of unit. A jack-up in a shipyard may require a different crew from a jack-up operating offshore.

Compliance

Compliance and document control

Before mobilisation, we check that personnel have the licences, medical certificates and safety training required for the relevant unit and client.

Contracts, insurance and relevant flag documents must be in place before joining. We also follow up certificate expiry dates and outstanding documentation during the assignment.
